KLD Celebrates Love That Heals, Connects, and Empowers

"Love That Heals, Connects, and Empowers" served as the guiding principle for a two-day celebration at KLD, where the focus shifted away from traditional romantic themes to explore the broader meaning of affection. Held on February 11-12, 2026, the event encouraged students and staff to prioritize self-care, family bonds, and community support. The initiative was headed by the Guidance and Counseling Services and Career Advice Unit, with the goal of fostering emotional well-being and responsible decision-making.

The first day kicked off with an opening program and a "Serenade," accompanied by free coffee and pandesal for the community. Students and staff engaged with five interactive booths designed to promote different forms of affection. These included "Mirror Promises" for self-love, "Friendship Bingo," and "Letter from the Heart" for family appreciation. Other stations like "Plant the Love" focused on community care, while a Relationship Awareness booth provided guidance on maintaining healthy romantic boundaries.

The second day shifted toward expression and reflection through an "Open Mic" session, offering a safe space for participants to share their thoughts. The festivities also included film screenings centered on diverse forms of love and a creative activity titled "If My Feelings Had a Playlist". By involving both students and school personnel, the event successfully fostered a sense of belonging and gratitude across the institution.

The program succeeded in moving the conversation beyond simple romance, reminding the entire campus that the most enduring connections are those built on understanding and mutual support. As the event concluded, it left behind a more caring environment where students feel better equipped to handle their emotions and appreciate the diverse relationships that shape their daily lives.
