Operational excellence is taking center stage at Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas through a series of strategic initiatives aimed at reinforcing institutional discipline. By revitalizing the 6S Methodology and establishing a clear path toward ISO 9001:2015 Certification, KLD is working to align its academic and administrative processes with international benchmarks. This transition focuses on moving beyond basic workplace requirements to embed a culture of continuous improvement across the community.
The foundation of this effort is the 6S Methodology—Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Secure Safety. To ensure institutional alignment, the relaunch began with a kick-off for administration and faculty on September 17, 2025, followed by sessions for student leaders on October 6, 2025 and cafeteria personnel on November 14, 2025. To maintain these standards daily, 6S Champions have been appointed from each department to lead implementation and oversee efficiency within their respective areas.
To measure progress, Quality Management System Unit conducted unofficial compliance audits in November 2025 and January 2026. These internal reviews serve as the baseline for the more ambitious goal of achieving ISO 9001:2015 Certification. A milestone in this journey was the launch of the Quality Policy Statement on January 30, 2026, during the Employee Deployment Assembly. This policy acts as a framework to guide the institution toward consistent service delivery and higher educational quality.
The momentum continued on February 25, 2026, when 6S Champions held their first official meeting and signed a Commitment Pledge to ensure unified implementation. This marks the beginning of a two-year roadmap dedicated to standardizing workflows to meet global Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
By merging the disciplined environment of 6S with the structured excellence of ISO standards, KLD is doing more than just preparing for audits, it is developing disciplined, responsible, and quality-oriented citizens. As we move forward, every badge earned in a 6S Challenge and every process standardized bring us one step closer to being a premier, ISO-certified institution.
"Quality is not an act, it is a habit. At KLD, we are making excellence our second nature."
