Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas has reached another major achievement in expanding its healthcare curriculum after securing official approval for the Report on the Result of Preliminary Assessment (RRPA) on May 21, 2026. This officially greenlights the opening of the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, also known as Medical Technology. The addition of this program marks an expansion for KLD, as it officially becomes the 10th academic program to be offered on campus for the upcoming Academic Year 2026–2027.
The introduction of the program comes at a time of high demand for medical education in the region. Currently, around 200 prospective students are already lined up and waiting for enrollees' screening, highlighting the local youth's strong interest in entering the healthcare profession. To maintain strict academic standards and clinical excellence, KLD has assembled a highly qualified faculty lineup to lead the new department. The team is spearheaded by Dean Dr. Giovanni Milanez, MSMT, RMT, alongside Associate Dean Jaycee Toledo, MSMT, RMT. Joining the team are proficient faculty members and Registered Medical Technologists Zelland Tobias, MMPH, RMT, Janielle M. Fajardo, RMT, and Kim Nicole Villaluz, RMT.
With the approval finalized and a stellar teaching roster in place, the administration is now finalizing laboratory setups and class schedules to accommodate the incoming pioneer batch. By offering Medical Laboratory Science, KLD strengthens its role as a key training ground for future medical professionals, providing affordable, high-quality healthcare education that equips students with the technical skills needed to support diagnostic medicine and national public health.
