Congress Laurels and Research Breakthroughs

Following a meticulous evaluation by the abstract review committee, the congress recognized outstanding projects across oral presentations, rapid elevator pitches, and visual poster segments for their methodology and social relevance.

Best Paper Distinctions

The apex awards honored extensive research design addressing fundamental ecological and engineering challenges.

Professional Division: First place went to Michelle P. Villacorte, Palmer B. De Leon, and Julieta B. Montecillo (Universidad de Manila & National University – MOA) for their mechanical framework converting environmental acoustic noise into a sustainable power source. Oliver S. Marasigan’s team (DOST) secured second with laser engraving color analyses on Philippine wood, while a third-place tie recognized Mary Ann V. Ramirez (New Era National High School), Mark Joven V. Bañaga, and Angela R. Bayon-On’s research cohort for their respective works on math critical thinking metrics, agri-logistics mapping, and circular economy adoption.

Student Division: A tie for first place recognized Ayumi N. Aragon’s team (St. Dominic College of Asia) for an emission-reducing bamboo-coconut shell motorcycle filter, alongside Karl Paulo Segundo C. Bustillo’s large research group (Dasmariñas Integrated High School) for "Aqoatrix," an electrocoagulation water filtration prototype designed for Taal Lake. Second place was shared by Divine Melody C. Mahumas’s team (Dasmariñas Integrated High School) for natural fiber sound-absorption panels and Courtney N. Tingson’s group (Tanza National Comprehensive High School) for analyzing the anti-tumor effects of Aratiles extract on fruit flies. Discarded milkfish bone food fortifiers by Jed Carlo L. Romulo (EAC Cavite) and organic guava mouthwash by Danica Gel G. Masangcay’s group tied for third.

Oral Presentation Highlights

Green & Climate Solutions: Elena O. Mercado (EAC Cavite) won the professional track for tracking airborne fungal communities in city schools, while Mark C. Galamiton’s team (UPHSD Molino) took the student title for "Plugtracker," an appliance energy-monitoring sensor app.

Digital Transformation: Mark Joven V. Bañaga placed first for his algorithmic approach to shielding farmers within agri-logistics. In the student track, Yuri P. Alfaro’s group (UPHSD Molino) won for a self-charging, kinetic-powered GPS wristband for child safety.

Community Resilience: Sheela Anne D. Maraan’s group (Paliparan III SHS) claimed top professional honors for their campus well-being discourse analysis. Leeann Linzen B. Bautista’s team (St. Edward School) won the student division for capturing the household coping strategies of flood victims in Noveleta.

Inclusive Innovation: Elisha R. Cabangon’s cohort (Paliparan III SHS) topped the professional rank by drafting designs for gender-neutral and PWD-accessible restrooms. Karl Paulo Segundo C. Bustillo’s group earned another student top spot for the Aqoatrix environmental filtration design parameters.

Sustainable Governance: Roderick T. Verzosa (EAC Cavite) won first place for modeling public official performance optimization, while Nicole Ashley O. Singson’s group (CvSU) took the student crown for auditing accounting compliance in micro-enterprises.

Transformative Education: Danica Ann O. Olaes (Kanggahan Elementary) earned first place for utilizing AI reading tools to elevate student science literacy. Jewel Joyce B. Ortega’s group (CvSU) led the student track by analyzing digital textbook adoption among accounting students.

Three-Minute Elevator Pitch (3MT) and Poster Winners

The 3MT segment forced presenters to compress complex datasets into sharp, brief speeches. Nico Niño B. Evardone (Dasmariñas East Integrated High School) secured first place in the professional category with "Gabay Aral," a community integration program designed to lower secondary school dropout rates.

In the student 3MT tracks, Eizelle Jhanne Y. Bumatay (UPHSD Molino) won for analyzing filial obligations, while Aaliyah Fate A. Bacuetes (LPU Cavite) took top honors for building a digital scanner to uncover counterfeit community medicines. Grazielle Paulene T. Evardone (Universal College of Parañaque) won the green sector with an organic citronella repellent balm stick. In social inclusion, Jhared Moises N. Villarba (UPHSD Molino) won for a qualitative study documenting the struggles of openly gay educators in sectarian schools, and Riz Marielle L. Camballa (UPHSD Molino) led governance by linking senate hearing dynamics to youth voting behaviors.

Finally, the Student Poster Presentation category awarded first place to Gene Lorenz Sarmiento (Statefields School, Incorporated) for creating "SSAIGE," a gamified, AI-driven web application that improves conceptual biology retention among senior high school students. The congress closed with institutional agreements to fund the optimization of these winning prototypes for direct community rollouts.
