In support to the academic aspirations, KLD served as a testing venue for the 2026 Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) undergraduate scholarship examinations. Held from February 21 to 22, 2026, the two-day event brought together nearly 200 aspiring scholars as part of a collaborative effort to expand access to high-quality education and career opportunities in specialized fields.
The examination was a joint undertaking between KLD and several key agencies including the DOST Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) Cavite, OWWA Provincial Satellite Office (PSO) Cavite, and the DOST-SEI Scholars’ group. This partnership turned the campus into a place for students vying for the OWWA Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) and the Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP). These programs are specifically designed to provide financial relief and academic support to the dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), ensuring that the sacrifices of migrant workers translate into a bright future for their children.
Accommodating approximately 197 examinees, the testing took place at the KLD CB2 building, 5th floor, in rooms 2502 and 2503. The College’s facilities provided a conducive environment for the testing process.
By hosting these examinations, KLD reaffirms its commitment to its role as an aide for national development programs. The collaboration not only streamlines the application process for local students but also strengthens the relationship between the local government-funded institution and national bodies like DOST and OWWA.
