Last February 19, 2026, the Institute of Student Affairs, Character Education and Citizenship successfully conducted its first Professional Learning Session under the Professional Learning System, marking a meaningful beginning toward continuous growth, reflection, and purposeful service.
The session featured Dr. Angustia “Girlie” S. Segubre, LPT, RGC, who facilitated an engaging and insightful seminar entitled “Serving Through the Lens of Five Senses.” Through thought-provoking discussions and interactive activities, participants were encouraged to deepen their understanding of service by becoming more aware, empathetic, and intentional in their everyday interactions.
The seminar highlighted the importance of:
- Seeing beyond what is visible to better understand the needs of others;
- Listening attentively with empathy and genuine presence;
- Communicating with care, clarity, and compassion;
- Acting mindfully and intentionally in every interaction; and
- Embracing service as a heartfelt commitment rather than a simple responsibility.
Through meaningful reflections and active participation, attendees were reminded that impactful service begins with sincere engagement and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
The success of this milestone session would not have been possible without the participation and enthusiasm of everyone involved. As the Professional Learning System continues, the Institute remains committed to nurturing individuals who lead and serve with purpose, compassion, and integrity.
