The Institute of Midwifery has initiated "Project M.O.M.: Malusog, Organisado, at Maunlad na Nanay from Womb to Work," a community extension project aimed at empowering teenage mothers and solo parents in Barangay Sta. Lucia.

The project is designed with two distinct phases to address the specific needs of the target beneficiaries. The first phase focuses on expecting teenage mothers, providing them with essential prenatal care, including regular check-ups, tetanus toxoid vaccinations, and vitamins. The program also ensures they receive proper referrals to appropriate healthcare facilities for safe delivery, emphasizing the importance of maternal and child health.

The second phase of the project is a skills development program for solo parents. Participants are undergoing training in the production of personal care products. This livelihood training component is a key part of the project, as it equips them with the skills to generate income and improve their families' economic well-being.

The initiative is spearheaded by Project Leader Leny Rose Loria, with the support of the Institute of Midwifery faculty members. Through this program, KLD demonstrates its commitment to community engagement and social development, providing a tangible pathway for mothers in the community to build a more secure future.
