Institute of Foundational Studies Holds Successful Faculty Onboarding Program
The Institute of Foundational Studies of Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas successfully conducted its Faculty Onboarding Program on July 8, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Room 1303, bringing together newly hired and returning faculty members in preparation for the opening of the Academic Year 2026–2027.
The program formally commenced with an opening prayer and roll call, followed by the Welcome Remarks delivered by the Institute's newly appointed Dean, Ma. Fatima B. Estacion. In her message, Dean Estacion warmly welcomed the faculty members and emphasized the vital role of educators in cultivating academic excellence, fostering student success, and advancing the vision and mission of the Institute of Foundational Studies. She encouraged everyone to embrace collaboration, professionalism, and innovation as they work together in building a strong educational foundation for every Dasmarineño.
Following the Dean's message, the newly appointed Institute Lead, Catherine S. Oliquino, presented the program agenda and outlined the objectives of the onboarding session. She emphasized the importance of ensuring that all faculty members are aligned with institutional policies, academic standards, and operational procedures to promote consistency, accountability, and excellence in teaching and service.
The onboarding program provided a comprehensive orientation on the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Core Values of the Institute, reaffirming IFS's commitment to delivering quality general education that develops intellectual curiosity, ethical leadership, critical thinking, holistic development, and lifelong learning among students.
Faculty members also participated in discussions covering the Institute's organizational structure, faculty roles and expectations, teaching responsibilities, workload distribution, and professional conduct and ethics. Key academic policies and procedures were likewise presented, including class management, attendance and leave policies, grading systems, submission of academic requirements, and the proper process for addressing and referring student concerns.
To ensure operational efficiency, the program also highlighted essential administrative processes such as communication protocols, documentation and reportorial requirements, and the proper use of institutional systems and resources. Faculty members were likewise introduced to committee assignments, institutional programs, and opportunities for professional growth through research, extension, trainings, and seminars.
The onboarding program served not only as an orientation but also as a platform for fostering collaboration, shared responsibility, and a culture of continuous improvement among faculty members.
