In celebration of National Women’s Month, ISACEC, together with GCSCAU Interns, successfully conducted a community extension program titled “Lead Like the Babaylans – Rising with Strength, Leadership, and Empowerment” last March 12, 2026, at San Miguel Chapel.
The activity aimed to recognize the important role of women in leadership, empowerment, and community development while highlighting the historical significance of the Babaylans as respected leaders in pre-colonial Filipino society. Through the seminar, participants were encouraged to reflect on their own leadership potential and actively promote equality, empowerment, and positive social change within their communities.
The seminar proper featured guest speaker Pearlyn Joy Alexia Mones, who discussed the topic “Lead Like the Babaylans: Rising with Strength, Leadership, and Empowerment.” Her discussion focused on the leadership qualities of Babaylans and encouraged participants to develop confidence, inner strength, advocacy, and community leadership. The seminar also raised awareness about important laws protecting women’s rights, including the Magna Carta of Women and the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.
The activity concluded successfully with participants expressing appreciation for the meaningful discussions and inclusive environment provided during the program. Through the collaborative efforts of ISACEC Personnel and GCSCAU Interns, the event strengthened awareness of women’s empowerment and inspired participants to become active leaders and advocates within their communities.
