Institute of Computing and Digital Innovation (Partner Excellence Award)
In recognition of outstanding contributions to regional digital growth, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) CALABARZON recently presented the prestigious Partner Excellence Award to KLD. Conferred during the ILCDB Stakeholders' Summit 2025 held at the Batangas City Convention Center, this distinction honors the institution’s role in advancing ICT development and digital literacy. Under the theme "Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan," the award highlights KLD's commitment to the DICT’s mission of strengthening the digital skills of government workers and the broader community.
The success of this partnership was driven by several high-impact initiatives led by KLD’s Institute of Computing and Digital Innovation (ICDI). Over the past year, the institution delivered specialized training in R Programming and Python Programming Essentials, while also serving as a host for professional DICT examinations like the Electronic Data Processing Specialist Eligibility (EDPSE). KLD’s competitive spirit was further showcased by placing 7th in the HackForGov Regional Competition and participating in the Philippine Startup Challenge X, demonstrating the technical excellence of both its faculty and student body in provincial and regional arenas.
Accepting the honor on behalf of the college, President and College Administrator Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias credited the achievement to the "invaluable efforts and unwavering commitment" of the ICDI team. The leadership and vision of Dr. Magtibay, the current Dean of ICDI, and Mr. Keno Villavicencio, the immediate past Dean, were instrumental in fostering this collaborative environment. This recognition solidifies KLD’s reputation as a leading partner in the digital transformation of the CALABARZON region, ensuring its graduates and faculty remain at the forefront of the technology sector.
Center for Mission, Linkages and External Relations (2025 Gawad Bayanihan)
In recognition of its commitment to community service and educational collaboration, KLD was officially honored during the 2025 Gawad Bayanihan ceremony held recently at the Bayleaf Hotel. The event, held in conjunction with the Division Education Summit, served as a platform to celebrate institutions and individuals who have significantly contributed to the success of the educational initiatives within the City Schools Division of Dasmariñas.
The Gawad Bayanihan is an annual tradition that acknowledges the spirit of communal unity and cooperation. For KLD, this award reflects the institution’s active role as a "knowledge-based partner" of the City of Dasmariñas, extending its resources and expertise to support local basic education. By participating in these collaborative efforts, the College has demonstrated that its mission goes beyond higher education, playing part in the "SULONG TAYO" framework to improve the learning environment for all Dasmarineño students.
